Convert to horizonal style [edit]
The vertical format of this template is (a) out of line with other similar templates (b) problematic when added to pages which have a taxobox.
It needs to be converted to the standard bottom of the page style, like e.g. {{Botany}}, {{Fungus}}, {{Virus topics}}, {{British zoos}}.
Or at least there needs to be a bottom of the page alternative for use when the vertical format is unsuitable (almost always in my view). Peter coxhead (talk) 15:00, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

- If it has an Infobox or Taxobox, then it shouldn't have this template. This is largely for general Paleontology pages rather than specific species or biography pages. I can make a separate Horizontal style template for those kinds of pages. --Harizotoh9 (talk) 17:27, 30 September 2012 (UTC)
Appearance [edit]
Although I commend the hard work that has gone into creating this template, I must remark that it is one of the most garish looking templates on Wikipedia. Perhaps something could be done to soften its appearance. I would especially suggest removing the large black outlines around the sections. Kaldari (talk) 00:32, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
- I've attempted to fix the styling so that it is less aesthetically jarring. Kaldari (talk) 00:39, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you for improving it. I just copied the Evolutionary Biology template, and didn't know that much about the specific coding needed to make it aesthetically pleasing. --Harizotoh9 (talk) 17:32, 30 September 2012 (UTC)
Paleotempestology [edit]
Does this really belong in the list of branches? RockMagnetist (talk) 15:55, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
- I think I copied the list of branches from another sources, likely a category. I don't really know myself. Their work seems very Paleontological in nature, and it does have the Paleo prefix. However reading the page it seems that they mostly study things within the last 6,000 years. So, I don't know. --Harizotoh9 (talk) 17:29, 30 September 2012 (UTC)
